South Luffenham has two public houses, both serving meals, and close by on the A47 at Moorcot is a garage and convenience store. Morrisons, Sainsbury, Marks and Spencer and Waitrose supermarkets can all be found in Stamford; Tesco and the Co-op in Oakham and there is a small Co-op in Uppingham.

The Village is sociable and there are a number of events throughout the year to which visitors are very welcome. Teas and lunches are sometimes held in the village hall with the proceeds going to charity. Notice of these, and other events, is given in the Village Newsletter which you will find in the cottage.

The Village Church is open daily and there is a service most Sundays.

At Rutland Water you will find sailing, fishing, cycling, other activities, Normanton Church Museum and a bird sanctuary. There are nine and eighteen hole golf courses with a driving range at the north end of Rutland Water. For those interested in bird watching, cycling or walking, the forestry Commission’s Fineshade Wood is a short drive away. Close to South Luffenham are Uppingham, with its famous public school, the historic market town of Oakham and Lincolnshire’s Stamford, the backdrop for a number of films. In Stamford you will also find Burleigh House, home of the horse trials, and at nearby Tolethorpe the well known Stamford Theatre Company performs open air (audience under cover) from June to September. For historians both Bosworth Battle Field and Flag Fen (the largest Bronze Age excavation in Europe) are within easy reach.

All energy costs are included and one week breaks start from £260. Short breaks are also available throughout the year.
