Anglian Water is enormously proud of Rutland Water. First and foremost though, Rutland Water is a vitally important water resource, helping Anglian Water provide drinking water to an ever increasing population.
A major programme of engineering work is starting in 2008 to help Anglian Water ensure that it can meet the demand for water from an anticipated 650,000 new homes in the Anglian Water region in the next 25 years. This £115million project will see the expansion of the company's water treatment works at Wing, the construction of more than 40 km of new pipelines, and the creation of new wetland lagoons to make sure the internationally renowned wildlife which can be found at the reservoir is not disturbed.
