Vegetables All the Year Round

Aimed at both experienced and novice growers, Nick Hamilton’s course will show you the many ways you can extend your growing season; learn all about different vegetable varieties, propagation by seed, growing in beds, storage, and the importance of catch crops. Lunch in the Barnsdale Gardens Tea Room is included and by the end of the day you’ll be able to plan your own planting programme to give you home-grown vegetables on the dinner table all year round.

Planting Design Workshop

If your garden is not achieving everything you envisaged and you’re unsure what to do, then why not join internationally renowned garden designer David Stevens for this very special workshop. David will take you through all the basics, as well as looking at specific plants, showing how they work best in a garden, planting techniques, as well as preparing a planting plan.
David is in great demand as a designer and lecturer in garden design all over the world, so this day is a treat not to be missed!

A 2 day course run by local expert John Shone – you will have a brief introduction to this ancient craft and the language associated with it. You will then build your own stretch of wall.
We provide all the tools and materials.
You will need to bring your own refreshments and a packed lunch.
This is a very practical course so stout footwear and rough “outdoor” clothes are recommended plus waterproofs.
£90 per person for the 2 day course.
