All bookings are taken by telephone, please leave reservation requests on Mondays & Tuesdays on our voicemail and we will return your call on Wednesdays.

Wheelchair accessible but unfortunately no downstairs toilet. Sadly no dogs are allowed at Hitchen’s Barn (assistance dogs are welcome) Parking – we are located next to the long stay car park on Burley Road. Free parking in Burley Road car park after 6pm and on Sundays.

History: Neil and Louise Hitchen have spent the last 20 years of their lives working around the world in luxury hotels & restaurants, after returning to the UK in 2006 they transformed a little known village pub into a highly successful pub restaurant, The Berkeley Arms in Wymondham.  In 2012 their hard work was recognised with a Michelin Bib Gourmand which they retained for eight years.  ​They were also voted in the Top 20 Gastro Pubs in the UK by Sainsburys Magazine. With their eyes firmly set on launching a restaurant in Oakham, Neil & Louise found the perfect property which is now Hitchen’s Barn. Since its launch in January the restaurant has received the highest praise. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for this great building, its fantastic staff and the best locally sourced food.
