Mallard Point is a family-run Single Estate Vineyard and Distillery located in Essendine, Rutland, offering tours and creating a range of local gins and still and sparkling wines.

Forever linked with the record-breaking Mallard Steam Train. We planted our first vines in 2019, with further plantings in 2022 and again in 2023, and make regional terroir specific wines that are closely aligned with the premium spirits from our distillery.

From field to glass, we approach our craft conscientiously and sustainably. All our drinks are made in small batches with minimal intervention, to respect the natural flavours. We keep all production in-house to maintain the highest standards of quality control and reduce our carbon footprint.

Our vineyard is home to over 14,500 cool climate vines. Our focus is on creating expressive, fruit driven wines through minimal intervention, letting the grapes do the talking.

Tours;

If you’d like to come and visit us – join a relaxing and informative tour of our vineyard led by Andy in the beautiful surroundings of Mallard Point, where you will walk through the vineyards and be shown the different varieties, discuss viticulture and our grape growing practices. We then move on to the Winery where you will be immersed into all of the magical aspects of wine making and sample some wines from tank or bottle (depending on time of year). From £30 per person.
