Not only does the county offer a peaceful environment, with picturesque landscapes, unspoilt villages and quiet surroundings, but there is also the fast paced watersports action on Rutland Water, and numerous interesting locations which have featured in recent dramas.
HMP Ashwell, a category C prison, has recently been converted into the thriving Oakham Enterprise Park for businesses, but some of the of the modern cell blocks and original prison fencing remain. Previous productions filmed on site include Happy Valley, This is England 90, several short films and other BBC dramas yet to air.
