3-4 June 2017
The National Watersports Festival (NWF) is the largest participation water sports event in the UK. Fondly known as “The People’s Festival,” it is designed to cater for novice and intermediate watersports enthusiasts. The aim of NWF is to transform the normal spectator into the competitor / participant!
NWF has grown from the highly successful and unique National Windsurfing Festival which has become the largest event of it’s type on the national calendar. Previously held on Hayling Island in Hampshire, the event is coming to Rutland Water to expand the offering. The founding principle of the NWF is to provide a mass-participation event with a great atmosphere, taster sessions and a simple, “Out-and-Back” race format. The race format is designed to be non-intimidating, so that any intermediate, recreational sailor can take part, regardless of their ability. Most of all, NWF is about having fun, on and off the water – the beach parties with live bands are now legendary!
