As autumn’s chill starts to creep in, there’s one event that warms up the hearts of many – Bonfire Night! Also known as Guy Fawkes Night, this age-old British tradition is a celebration of the failed Gunpowder Plot of 1605, marked with stunning fireworks, bonfires, and dazzling displays. Whissendine bonfire and fireworks night:, Friday 3rd November
Whissendine Sports Club, Melton Road, Whissendine, LE15 7EU. Gates open 6 pm, fire breather from 6.30 pm, and fireworks from 7 pm. Hot and cold drinks and food, BBQ, and bar on site. This is a charity event with all proceeds going to Whissendine Primary School. Tickets from the school, village shop, or at the gate, £6 each (under 3’s free). Strictly no sparklers.

Bonfire Night at the Belvoir Castle Engine Yard: Friday 3rd November SOLD OUT

Prepare to be dazzled by Belvoir Castle’s stunning firework displays and warm up with your favourite comfort foods to enjoy Bonfire Night this year. As the night sky lights up with vivid colours, you can enjoy some of the finest drinks from their Balloon Bar. Entry on site from 5pm Bonfire lit at 6:30pm Fireworks 8 – 8:15pm

Rutland Lions Fireworks at Rutland Showground/Oakham Rugby Club: Saturday 4th November

Located on the outskirts of Oakham, the Rutland Showground has been a go-to spot for Bonfire Night enthusiasts for years. This family-friendly event is perfect for both adults and children. With a grand bonfire, music, and a mesmerising firework display, the Rutland Showground promises a night to remember. Gates open at 4.45pm; 1st display at 6.15pm; 2nd display at 7.00pm.
