As you may expect, The County of Good Taste provides a variety of local produce for sale in our markets, farm shops and cottage-run enterprises, alongside retailers specialising in sourcing the best produce from all over the world.

If you are looking to enjoy a nice tipple with your local food, pop into Oakham Wines in Oakham, and Bat & Bottle at Oakham Enterprise Park, who will be able to help you select the perfect choice.

Don’t miss Otters Fine Foods with their array of cheeses, meats and more, plus a visit to one of the Hambleton Bakery shops is a must. You will need some refreshment after all that shopping, so head to Grainstore Brewery to sample their famous brews.

In Oakham, the Farmers’ Market takes place on the 3rd Saturday of every month, so if you want to reduce your food miles and be assured of the origins of your meat this is the place to shop. In between the Farmers Markets, regular markets still provide top quality local fruit, vegetables and other goods. Oakham has a weekly market on Wednesdays and Saturdays plus Uppingham and Stamford’s market days are Friday
