Melton Mowbray will be transformed into the 1940s on 11th and 12th May for a free weekend event with Civilian, Allied and Axis re-enactors displaying life throughout the period.
The event starts at 10am and runs through to 5pm on both days with a spectacular 40s Parade through the town on Sunday morning.
What to expect:
– Vintage shopping areas – artisan craft, collectables & flea market and 40s fashion
– Re-enactments and living history displays, 1940s Meltonfest – a top secret German Encampment with Oompah Band.
– Vintage cars
– 40s entertainment and live music, including Carradine’s cockney sing-a-long on Sunday
– Guided history talks
– Characters dressed in period clothes
– Plenty of delicious food and drink
