The 2024 Somerby Festival of Walking will take place between Friday 17th May and Sunday 19th May. There are 10 free walks, from 3 miles to 15 miles, led by local volunteers, so hopefully there is something for everyone to enjoy.
The 2024 Festival has some old favourite walks as well as some new routes to explore. All of the walks are described, with a route map too, on the website: www.somerbyfestivalofwalking.co.uk.
In this 80th anniversary year of the Battle of Arnhem, we are once again running the 10th Battalion Trail walk led by the Friends of the Tenth, sharing stories of members of the 10th Battalion who were stationed in and around Somerby before they were deployed in Operation Market Garden.
New this year there is the Somerby History Amble, which is a slow wander around Somerby with the walk leader sharing interesting stories about the history of the village.
