Make sure you pop into the interactive and informative Rutland Water Visitor Centre at Sykes Lane near Empingham. You will find lots to be learned; with items telling the history of the reservoir, and explaining the wildlife on the nature reserve, not forgetting the array of local information you can pick up to plan your time in the area, alongside maps, cycle routes, souvenirs and gifts.

Plus a fantastic 12-hole mini golf course, providing fun for the whole family, there is also a kids adventure playground sponsored by Lands’ End, a seasonal refreshment kiosk, an off-lead dog walking area where your four legged friends can safely and securely run off the lead, and during the summer holidays there is even a man-made sandy beach where your little ones can paddle under the safe watch of our lifeguards.
