Tucked away just off the main road of the South Shore of Rutland Water is a real find. This extremely well stocked family owed shop has been serving the pretty village of Edith Weston for the last 3 years, and saves the drive into Uppingham or Oakham.  All the essentials are good quality, at affordable prices, and most importantly, the staff are friendly and helpful.

The shop is organised like a mini supermarket so it is easy to find what you need, whether it be fresh bread, croissants or Danish pastries; pork from Grasmere, or Nelson butchers products, which you will find in the chiller cabinets, as are fresh fruit and vegetables, together with eggs from a local producer.  There is a good selection of beers, wines and spirits, and soft drinks.  Hot and cold snacks and ice creams can be enjoyed at outside tables – weather permitting, together with the newly purchased slush machine.

The range of newspapers and magazines cater for all tastes and there is an excellent selection of local postcards – the Post Office Counter is open the same hours as the shop so no excuse not to buy the stamps!

The Village Store is also a Calor stockist so caters for the holiday makers from surrounding campsites to replenishing gas for the summer night BBQ’s.  We also offer a dry cleaning service from Laytons with collections on a Monday or Thursday.

The Post Office offers the majority of services you would expect but is unable to do road tax or passports.  We do however offer a local collect service, which enables parcels to be left at the post office if nobody is a home.

There is ample free parking outside.  Turn off the main road into Church Lane and turn left immediately.
